Domaine de la Romanée-Conti
Dialogue with Aubert de Villaine.
Vertical tasting of Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru.
The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is among the most famous and celebrated wineries in the world.
Its history crosses and overlaps with the French one, from the Renaissance to the storming of the Bastille, from the Second World War to the present day, continuing to anticipate and influence the fortunes of
Burgundy and its wines.
In this volume Aubert de Villaine, at the helm of DRC for almost half a century, puts the focus in an extensive interview on the perspectives of Burgundian wines and the challenges they will have to face,
between climate change and new economic scenarios. And he accompanies us in a memorable vertical tasting of one of his most iconic wines, the Romanée-Saint-Vivant: marvel of energy, balance and personality.
Quaderni is an editorial project by ArtevinoStudio (Fil Rouge Editore): a collection of monographic meetings with winemakers who have influenced the way of
thinking and making wine of our time. A journey that starts from Burgundy to move anywhere else, wherever there are stories, values and possibly great wines.
Each Notebook is divided into two parts: the first one is a sort of dialogue with the winemaker in the form of an interview, the second one is a tasting dedicated to the vertical view of a personal favourite
wine, chosen by the producer.
“Quaderni” was created to bring the spotlight on the personality and vision of the producer, cardinal points of any wine, translated from experience, stylistic interpretation, gestures and choices behind
every single vintage.
“Quaderni” emphasizes the central figure of the winemaker in the context of the terroir, and the wine, capable of filtering the concept of time. Away from fashion and elevating the place, simply through work.
