Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot
Dialogue with Aubert de Villaine.
Vertical tasting of Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru.
“I don't destem because I don't have a destemmer,” Yves told me the first time I tasted his wines with him.
Yves Confuron, scrupulous vigneron and talented winemaker, ironic and sagacious, is one of the most controversial figures on the Burgundian scene. Its bottles, long-lived to the point of being timeless, are
among the points of reference for wines obtained from whole bunch vinification.
Yves, together with his brother Jean-Pierre, manages Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot based in Vosne-Romanée, owner of twelve hectares of vineyards with some of the best plots in the Côte de Nuits.
Quaderni is an editorial project by ArtevinoStudio (Fil Rouge Editore): a collection of monographic meetings with winemakers who have influenced the way of
thinking and making wine of our time. A journey that starts from Burgundy to move anywhere else, wherever there are stories, values and possibly great wines.
Each Notebook is divided into two parts: the first one is a sort of dialogue with the winemaker in the form of an interview, the second one is a tasting dedicated to the vertical view of a personal favourite
            wine, chosen by the producer.
“Quaderni” was created to bring the spotlight on the personality and vision of the producer, cardinal points of any wine, translated from experience, stylistic interpretation, gestures and choices behind
            every single vintage.
“Quaderni” emphasizes the central figure of the winemaker in the context of the terroir, and the wine, capable of filtering the concept of time. Away from fashion and elevating the place, simply through work.
